Mastopexy

A mastopexy or uplift may be the procedure for you, if you feel that your breasts have good volume, however gravity has taken that volume somewhat south!  This is common after prior breastfeeding, and/or losing weight.

With a mastopexy, the nipples are re-positioned higher on the breast mound, and a variable amount of skin is removed from the lower breast, with minimal removal of underlying fatty/breast tissue.  This results in a more youthful breast shape, with the breast tissue lying higher on the chest wall.

Mastopexy

With a good amount of natural breast tissue, a mastopexy alone may be sufficient; however, if the breast tissue and nipples have dropped and there is a lack of volume, an implant as well as an uplift may be the best option to give you the desired result.  A mastopexy augmentation is a more complicated operation than mastopexy or augmentation alone - Amy will discuss the various options, their benefits and risks.

It must be remembered that gravity does continue, and will over the long term exert its effect on breast tissue!  Although the nipples will remain in their more elevated position, as the years pass the breast will lose some fullness in the upper part, as the tissues gradually stretch downwards.  The extent that this happens will depend on breast size and your body's natural elasticity.

Mastopexy alone can be performed as a day case operation: you will be advised about post-op bras, and wound aftercare. Mastopexy augmentation may require an overnight stay, and you will be prescribed tablet antibiotics for 5 days post-op.

Price

There is a large variation in mastopexy surgery, depending on your natural tissues, and whether or not an implant is required.  This will be discussed at consultation.

Mastopexy from £7000

Mastopexy augmentation from £8500
